We are pleased to announce, that after selecting candidates from a very rich pool of applicants, an offer was made and accepted by Sonya Davis to be the new Development Director at the Harwood Museum. Sonya will be joining the team in May 15th.

Sonya Davis comes to the Harwood Museum from Pensacola, Florida, where she’s lived for the past 8 years. She’s worked there in professional fundraising roles for various non-profits including 3 years at the Pensacola Museum of Art. Prior to arriving in Pensacola, she was engaged in non-profit fundraising in Palm Beach County, Florida. Her time there included fundraising for the Norton Museum of Art, Palm Beach County Cultural Council, and the Lighthouse Arts Center.

During her 15-year fundraising career, Ms. Davis has served in numerous board leadership positions for both the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) West Florida and Palm Beach County Chapters. She received both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Minnesota. Wherever she and her husband Jim have lived, they’ve been active community volunteers in many capacities including as volunteer fundraisers. In their free time, they travel to both familiar and new destinations while making ample time for family – three children and four grandchildren.
