Fritz Scholder: Works from the Harwood Museum Collection

The Harwood Museum of Art of the University of New Mexico presents the exhibition Fritz Scholder: Works from the Harwood Museum Collection organized by curator Margaret Bullock. The exhibition opens Friday, June 2nd and will be on view through September 10th, 2006. It features images from the Harwoods extensive collection of Scholders work including paintings and lithographs from his Indian, Taos, Mystery and other series. Fritz Scholder (1937-2005) exploded onto the American art scene in the late 1950s. He was a tireless and highly prolific artist, the subject of over 100 solo exhibitions (his first at the age of 16) and a participant in numerous others, both nationally and internationally. A Gallery Talk on Scholders work is scheduled for Thursday August 10, at 7pm
