Matt Jones has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. His writing has appeared in The Southern Review, The Atlantic, Post Road, The Journal, Ruminate, and various other publications. He has received support from the Ohio Arts Council and the Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve and Education Center.

Taos Jazz Bebop Society and the Harwood present the Charles McPherson Quartet as part of the New Mexico Jazz Festival in Taos. McPherson is one of the living treasures of the bebop era. A Charlie Parker disciple who brings his own lyricism to the bebop language, McPherson is known best for his many years playing with Charles Mingus. He has been an important figure in modern mainstream jazz for more than 35 years.
