
Work by Women Round Table
The WORK BY WOMEN: Round Table will feature reflections by the panelists on the exhibition, followed by Q&A and exchange with the audience. The discussion will be open to the range of topics generated by WORK BY WOMEN: “Why have there been no great women artists (or recognized as such)?” Is there a distinctive approach/style in art by women?; How do women artists both confront and transcend women’s issues and gender discrimination?; Women artists vis a vis galleries, museums, curators, and the public; Why Taos?; The conspicuously Anglo-centric world of women artists in western culture; The role of community.
Panelists: Lucy Lippard, Diane Reyna, Anita Rodriguez, and Sarah Stolar; Moderator: Harwood Director Richard Tobin. Friday, April 27, 7pm in Arthur Bell Auditorium. Tickets are $10.00 general and $8.00 for museum members.
