Pulitzer-Prize winning poet Tyehimba Jess, accompanied by jazz pianist, John Rangel

Arthur Bell Auditorium

The Harwood Museum, SOMOS & The Taos Jazz Bebop Society present Pulitzer-Prize winning poet Tyehimba Jess, accompanied by jazz pianist, John Rangel for a not to be missed performance.
Jess' second collection of poetry, Olio, won the Pulitzer in 2017. Jess presents the sweat and story behind America’s blues, worksongs and church hymns. Part fact, part fiction, Olio weaves sonnet, song, and narrative to examine the lives of mostly unrecorded African American performers directly before and after the Civil War up to World War I. John Rangel has over twenty years of performing and composing experience in jazz music.

Tickets are $25.00 for general and $20.00 for Museum, SOMOS and Taos Jazz bebop members.
